 Mr. McCormick began his legal career in 1993 at the Office of the Colleton County Public.  Shortly thereafter, he relocated to Beaufort, South Carolina where he began a three year term as an Assistant Solicitor for the 14th Judicial Circuit.  As an Assistant Solicitor, Mr. McCormick was a compassionate yet successful prosecutor gaining convictions in over thirty jury trials which went to verdict.  During this period, he was named Special Prosecutor for the U.S. Attorney’s Violent Crime Task Force. 

 Upon leaving the Solicitor’s office, Mr. McCormick was hired as an associate at the insurance defense firm of Griffith and Sadler.  At Griffith and Sadler, he gained valuable trial experience in matters of civil litigation and Worker’s Compensation.

 In 2000, opened his office in Beaufort specializing in matters of civil and criminal litigation as well as worker’s compensation.  Additionally, in 2012, Mr. McCormick was certified as a Circuit Court Mediator.

 He now uses the knowledge and insight gained prosecuting for the State, and working for the insurance companies, to gain favorable results for his clients.  Mr. McCormick has now tried in excess of sixty jury trials in addition to a multitude of bench trials.  His trial experience rivals that of most any attorney in South Carolina.

 Mr. McCormick is also active within his community.  In addition to his legal practice, he served as a Volunteer Guardian ad Litem, and has served on the Boards of Directors of Sea Island Rotary, United Way of Beaufort, Beaufort Regional Chamber of Commerce among others.
